Class response (adventure aquarium)

Recently, Omega went on a field trip to the adventure aquarium. I was in a group with a lot of my friends. Our chaperon was our science teacher and because of that, we were given the most freedom out of the other groups to explore the wonders of the museum. We first started out near a large viewing glass where we were able to study the great turtles, sharks and manta rays up close. The turtle was even curious enough to stay at the glass for the whole time and we were able to observe the way it swam. Then we started exploring the rest of the museum. My personal favorites were the large viewing glass where they frequently fed the animals, the shark tunnel, the Jules Verne Exhibit, the hippopotamus exhibit and both of the outside exhibits which consisted of the seal and penguin exhibit. I was also very interested at the Touch-a-shark exhibit and the other touching exhibits because they allowed us to feel the animals and make connections to science class and the concepts that we had learned. I was especially fascinated with the large viewing glass and the shark tunnel because they were very large viewing areas so we were able to see the diverse species of animals like manta rays and all the species of sharks, and because they gave different viewing perspectives that allowed us to study all parts of it including the underside. The Jules Verne exhibit was another interesting part of the museum because the exhibits were mainly composed of cnidarians, arthropods and mollusks, subjects which we had studied most. We were able to see all of the animals and their functions live and were able to observe them in real life. In the outside exhibit, I enjoyed the penguins because they were a special type of desert penguins that were not from Antarctica and they were a smaller more colored species. The seals were very lazy and one of them was swimming all the time while one was basking on a rock. In the hippopotamus exhibit the hippos were sleeping but it was still very interesting to see all of the fish that were nibbling at the hippopotamus to keep it clean and healthy. In the end it was a very fun and interesting trip in which we learned a little about the animals and observed their behavior.
